The TPR Method

Hello, it is nice to be back!

Today we reviewed the Silent way Method. We started by arranging 10 rods in a shape and gave each one a specific sound from the IPA, depending on each rod color. I will show below our masterpiece!  :D Then, we made the respective SWOT analysis for the Silent Way Method and entered a new topic which is the Total Physical Response method (TPR).

I had a blast! this was the most dynamic class so far. I learned that James Asher was the founder of the TPR, and it involves body movement to establish deep connections that remain in our brains for even decades! like the songs of our childhood, and some games in the classroom that up to this day, we still remember. The TPR also uses short commands so that the student after hearing the phrase over and over again, will eventually internalize it and produce it. Last but not least, one of the most important traits of this method is how playful and dynamic it is and how it makes students feel successful.

I really enjoyed this time and how you, teacher Orlando connected everything on purpose! (playing music in the background to introduce the new topic) You are great!

Here are some pics:

This is our palm tree and aour sentence goes like this: In the evening I shout and cry outside, over old frui and shoes.

An this is us puting the TPR method into practice1 I was the one leading. 馃槅

This time, let me start with a fantastic record of our last class. We did some demo classes as a team. It was very funny to see all the course wearing black as if we had planned it!馃槄馃槀 Teacher Orlando divided us into four different groups, I'll introduce mine in a second. And we performed grammar and vocabulary topics as teachers. Let´s get into it and review what each one of us presented to the class! Group 1: Vocabulary - Medical Vocabulary Group number one decided to teach medical vocabulary. I really loved their activities and the topic was especially important since we will most likely be interpreting or translating medical-related things, so I found it very useful.  First of all, they started asking some questions, they showed us some medical stuff and we brainstormed as a class, trying to guess what the right term for the image was. Then, the...
