Collaborative Aproach

Hi everyone! It is nice to have you back reading my entries!

In the last two classes, we started a new register and started talking about the collaborative approach. We said that approach means a focus or an idea to develop a topic. The Collaborative Approach is divided into three:

  • Comunity Language Learning, which reinforces the idea of "I need my tribe to back me up", nothing is prepared but flows, and its purpose is to create connections and boost confidence in a good environment.
  • Task-based learning: the group evolves into a team and small steps lead to big objectives, in this step we consolidate our previous connections in a team.
  • Content-based learning: In this final step the team is promoted and students are able to complete any task based on content.
On Thursday, we talked about collaborative activities (like dialogues, discussions, matching, sorting, role plays, etc.) And the best way to illustrate it was by working in pairs or in groups, I really had fun! 馃挮馃槑 First of all, we made groups of four, there was a speaker, a questioner, and two people taking notes, then teacher Orlando was telling a story and we would guess what method he was referring to. It was competitive and fun! and it turned out that that activity has a name: it's a listening triangle!!

Then we quickly decided what our posture was on a topic: Is it necessary to graduate from College or is money in social media? We stood up and arranged in pairs by the color of the rod we had and talked about it. that was called: Talk partners

we also had a wonderful congress in which we shared opinions and knowledge first individually, tehn as a group and finally with the whole class. We made up a country´s name, ours was The Republic of Danamima (Daniela Nathaly Miriam, Maria) and gave everyone of as the role of a minister, min ister of education, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Economy, and Minister of Health. Each minister came up with some good practices they have in each of the areas, then we stood up, and arranged by the color of our given rod, we shared iodeas and then came back to our teams, and socialized to finally speak up to the whole class. It was cool. All of that is uder the name of  Think-pair share

Finally, to wrap up we had a competitive element! That was the coolest part of the class and I had a blast! some pairs stood up and using wool, they were tied up like in crossed ties, then they had to find their way out of the knot! and the first one doing so was the winner.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my entry! Hope to have you back next week! 馃憣馃槉
