Multiple Intelligences PPT round 3

 Hello! Welcome back to my entry! So today, we continue with Intelligences, I still spent my day at Joni and Friends distribution this Thursday 23rd, but I am keeping up with the class! 馃拝馃拋

6. Intrapersonal Intelligence: is all about self-reflection. People with intrapersonal intelligence are able to understand what they are good at (strengths) and weaknesses. Some important characteristics are intuition, they are independent people, they apply their knowledge to daily activities, they can easily identify their emotions as they are very introspective.

  • Some benefits related to this type of intelligence are that you can better understand yourself and work better using your tools and skills.
  • You have greater compassion.
  • You reflect and evaluate feelings.
  • You develop an ability to try new things.

Some of the professions are psychologist, social worker, author, and planner.



7. Naturalist Intelligence: It became an independent intelligence in 1995. It ids the ability to appreciate, categorize, clasify, explain, and connect every day life things with nature. We develop it at the biggining of our lives. Some caracteristics are:

  • You are sensitive toward nature.
  • You like to be in contact with nature.
  • You have love and care for plants and animals.
  • You enjoy TV programs related to nature.
You can develop this type of intelligence going on a nature walk, visiting new rivers, lakes and mountains, and you can also start a garden.

Some professions are: biologist, metheorologist, florish, gardeners and veterinarian.




8. Existential Intelligence: this is the ability to understand and contemplate philosophical topicsrelated to mankind´s existence. It consists in trying to find an answer to questions with no answer.

Characteristics:
  • Interest in origing of life and the meaning of death.
  • Desire to help and serve others, leaving egocentrism. 
  • Self observation and observation of the environment.
  • Interest in spiritual knowledge.
  • Respond rationally against difficult situations.
Philosophers, theologists and scientists share existential intelligence.



9. Interpersonal Intelligence: there was no presentation for this topic, but in las entries I posted some info I collected about it.

I really regret not seeing all the presentations this week, but I´m pretty sure my classmates did pretty well, I heard they had fun, and personally I can say that I learned new things about the intellligences, I enjoyed this topic a lot!

Community Language Learning Method

Hi there! Welcome back to my blog!  In this entry, we are going to review the Community Language  Learning Method. If I were to define this method in three words, I´d say: together, speaking, and flow. This method is based on the idea that students learn with and from other peers, that´s why they need each other in the process. This method doesn´t require lesson planning which allows the session to flow and gives the students and teacher the chance to integrate interesting topics, however, there's the risk of not handling time well. Since talking is essential, it is better to use this method with advanced-level learners. Something that caught my attention and I think works pretty well is the use of authentic material, such as podcasts, movies, maybe some speeches, or music because I think that is the best approach to real-life speaking and that is what sometimes students lack. When we are too accustomed to workbooks and only workbooks we don't have a close idea of real English...

Presentation Practice and Production

 Hello everyone!  Welcome back to the last entry of this register! Today we are going to discuss  what we studied in our last class: Presentation Practice and Production. This are the stages of a class. In the first stage which is presentation, the teacher takes the most time to explain. In this stage, students understand concepts. This stage is mostly for  teachers, they have to be resourceful and do what they have to do to explain and make students understand. They can use replicas, realia, images, among others to teach vocabulary, they sometimes go straight to the point (deductively) or by letting students discover in contexts or practicing conversations  (inductively) in the case of grammatical topics. Then, we have our second stage, which is “Practice”. Students rehearse in this stage. The interaction goes in both ways students-teacher teacher-students but students are the ones practicing, while teachers can be walking around providing just the necessary he...
